Small Business Video Audiences
Hello, it’s Tom Stanhope from video track here again with video marketing tips. Now, today’s question is quite simple – where does your audience live? I don’t mean this literally, but where do they like to go when they are online? Small business video audiences are not always straightforward and every business will be different.
Who are they?
When you are planning your video content the first thing you do when you’re planning is work out who it’s for. When you’ve worked out who it’s for you then want to work out where they “live” online. You might be seeing this video on LinkedIn or YouTube that’s because we’ve understood that a lot of the people who we work with will use LinkedIn or YouTube. These are two of the places they hang out so we make content and share it on those platforms. But if you haven’t had that thought process about where your audience lives then you might as well just be throwing content out willy-nilly and fingers crossed it finds the right person.
Get to know them
The best way to work out where your audience is online is to get to know them as well as possible. What do they need? What do they like? Who do they aspire to be? You can do this simply by talking to some of your best customers and asking them. It’s about making sure that next time your dream client is looking for a supplier you are exactly where they need you to be. When it comes to video this could be YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, your blog, to name but a few.
